As I pointed out earlier in the year in the Find Chey Flashback, our very first Find Chey winner was Karen Jo on April 26, 2008. Derby was an early winner several times over and Dragonheart and Merlin were wonderful about saying that they thought they had created a new astrological sign just for me!
Our beautiful friend Luxor found me when I was the sphinx. It would have been rather embarrassing if he hadn’t!
In June, I had my first guest photo from Latte and family which sent me out to Philly! On August 6, 2008 Gandalf and Grayson were the winners with a bit of wicked foreshadowing…
Some of our winners have either stopped blogging or crossed the rainbow bridge, Luxor, Dragonheart and Merlin Pyewacket, Skeeter, and LC (yes they blogged with Ayla), Fat Eric, and Boots and the Inerlopers.
Miss Peach was often a photo contributor and sometimes even a guest star! Eric and Flynn also contributed a number of photos and were the contributor of one of the few where I was never found! They were also guest stars on their own as well!
Ping, Cory, Gandalf and Grayson, Skeezix, (who won so consistently for awhile that we started calling it Skeezix Sunday) Ayla and family (which changed over the years), Jeter Harris, Camie’s Kitties, Maobert (who may have been helped by Skeezix), Sophia, Fi and Lando(who inspired the whole thing when DKM would go traveling and have a guess where she is post), the Island Cats, Laila and Minchie
‘Kaika became so good at this that he started getting called Smarty Pants ‘Kaika by Mao when Mao would come by! Another sleuth, who turns out to be cat 007, Simba found me so often and had so much fun, he started blogging! Another non blogging cat Netti has found me a few times too!
China Cat, Black Cat, , Victor Tabby Cat, Parker,Mr Echo, Roxy and Lucky, TK, Pixel and Samba, Max and Artemisia, Socks and Scylla have all found me on occasion. Surprisingly the Meezers get mentioned frequently but have only been ONCE!.
I’m thrilled and amazed at all the cats who have come by over the years–and awed at how long this has gone on, seeing that cats still seem to enjoy finding me! Oh if you wonder why I look annoyed in the photo–it’s because the Woman is gone and she did not bring a computer with any photos that she took so this is one that the Male took of me! Can you imagine?
Wow…names I haven’t seen in a while. I miss Dragonheart…
I really suck at figuring out where you are, but even when it makes me feel stoopit, it’s a ton of fun!
Find Chey Fridays are a lot of fun, and I have them to thank for the fact that I started by blog, which is also lots of fun. I look forward to future times of trying to to find where you are. Might Ichiro get lost sometimes too? Maybe then he would not sit on your head.
We love finding you Chey! I can’t believe the male actually took a picture of you!
We love looking for you Chey. We get mum to help and if she can find some obscure clue we make her get googling. Once, we can’t remember where you were but it involved a castle, and mum was googling castles in Oregon, WA etc and was finding long lists with links to photos and she was checking every one and was there for around 3 hours and never did any work. When dad came home she said,’Oh, I’ve been trying to find Chey’. She gives herself a time limit now.
Mom found her log book she started when she first began blogging (she learned to log down all her favorite sites) and she was shocked at the blogs that no longer exist and she wonders what happened to the cats and their people. Some cats, yes have gone to the Rainbow Bridge but others simply stopped. One of the ones we were so surprised to see go so abruptly was Dragonheart and Merlin. We miss those two little guys.
This was a really good post Chey!

Happy weekend, furiends!
All those names sure brought back memories. We keep thinking we’re gonna end up on the list of “just stopped” too, and then SURPRISE, the Lady lets us post again. We miss everybody.
We are pleased an honored that Skeeter and LC were remembered. They loved the Find Chey Contest!
Skeeter and LC found me so much I think that if they had not crosed the bridge I would never have to give Facebook hints so you would not have to worry about not being on it!
Oh, your mention of Dragonheart and Merlin brought back memories. We have tried to find them, but have been unsuccessful. They were one of our first furiends on the blogosphere. We loved them!
Hope you have a happy Sunday!
~ Miss Emily
One of these days I will find you. I know of one that I figured out — the Hemmingway house, but I think I was late. It was one of the first times I tried. You certainly keep us on our toes.
