I love it when I have a new winner! Lots of people came by and didn’t know where I was. Roxy came by and guessed, “Colombia River Gorge in Oregon? Other than that, I got nothing as well. Roxy” It was enough! Indeed it was the Gorge. Roxy came back and said, “OMG! I am actually correct, and the first? Woo HOOOOO! Roxy There is a lookout (overlook) along that road, with some neat building, are you there? (Mom remembers it was twisty to get to the top.” And that is right.
Cory, of course, living near by, knew as well. “There are a couple of main viewpoints:The Portlant Women’s Forum State Scenic Viewpoint and Crown Point. Mom actually rode her bike to both places…but didn’t take me. Are at one of those spots?”.
Dr. Tweety was very close (knowing it was the Gorge), saying, “I say dis on da horsey point ovefur lookin da Columbia River on da way to Eastern Washintonz. Da momee sez dere are stachewz up dere… but I also tink it mights be on da Orrygone side. Oh crap! I see you gavez away da answer in da commint above!!! Who can read around here???? Okay, it iz Crown Point!”
We were indeed at Crown Point, having just stopped at Vista House. This is a lovely place to take in the views of the Columbia River Gorge. It’s on the old Scenic Highway where you can stop and visit a bunch of waterfalls as well. The little dog on the stump is my near cousin Belle who I love to chase!
