Well just five minutes (on our blog) before ‘Kaika guessed where I was, Max said, “Loup Loup ski resort?” ‘Kaika then responded, “Are you at Loup Loup?” And yes, ‘Kaika, I am doing the Loup as they say in Eastern Washington. Actually I think because it is Loup Loup ski bowl rather than resort, ‘Kaika was more correct Max.
There is no “resort” at Loup Loup. There is a building where you can buy tickets and there is a small area inside to rent skis. There is a tiny area where you can eat in a cafeteria (you can purchase some basic food stuffs or bring your own) and then outhouses. Yes, that is right. They have OUTHOUSES! Anything requiring you to use an outhouse where you can freeze your bum off (they are not heated) is NOT a resort–according to the Woman.
Gandalf,Grayson Whitey and Gracie said I was skiing. Sort of. The Meezers said, “well, you’re skiing somewhere, you should really get inside the lodge and warm your hiney up! and your feets! um, are you at the ‘lympics ?” Well, yeah I would except as I said, there wasn’t much of a place to warm up.
Daisy asked, “On the bunny slope looking for rabbits?” I am actually above the rope tow lift and the platter surface lift is over to the right of this photo, so I am not actually on the bunny slope. However I think that is a smashing idea!
Simba said, “You are at a beautiful skiing place, and you are sitting on the snow so your butt must be very cold. It looks like a nice place to ski because it is not at all crowded. Other than that, not a clue!” And you are right. This was actually on a Saturday. The Male wanted to go to Loup Loup a couple of years ago because he is still a beginner (and continues to be–Max your folks are WAY ahead of him–they made it down a run) and it was said to not be crowded. The ski patrol and instructors there were very friendly. The Woman was riding up the lift that she shared with one of their volunteer patrollers. He told her all about the area and then gave her an impromptu ski lesson as she came back down. Loup Loup is mostly an intermediate level area, although they have runs designated as greens and blacks. The greens would probably give Max’s folks more challenge then they want so they should stay to the surface lift (and boy do I want to see them get off of THAT!) and the blacks probably wouldn’t challenge the good skiers out there much.
Still, Loup Loup is in the Methow Valley which is always lovely. It was so pretty there that it made the Woman want to cross country ski rather than down hill ski and that is saying something. They stayed at the Sun Mountain Lodge while they were there. The Woman hopes to go back again sometime (and cross country ski) so perhaps some time I’ll be back here too!
Hey cool! We got a note from Loup Loup: The Loup Loup Ski Area no longer has outhouses!! New structure built in 2007 houses restrooms larger than those at 49 D North near Spokane. The Loup Loup is the perfect place to bring the little ones to learn how to ski. One chair lift means no lost party members & there is rarely any kind of lift line. The Loup Loup can be your own private Washington.
This must have been the year after the Woman was there! How very cool. Actually ANY beginner (not just child age) does well there because there are few wild and crazies skiing over there!
Hey, even being half right is better than I usually get! WOOHOO!
I think I saw all that snow and I rushed back to the south to get warm. Sorry I didn’t get a chance to guess this week.
Chey, you’re lucky you have some very savvy friends who always find you!!…xo…Calle, Halle, Sukki
Really, Chey. These kitties are just super cluey. I never had any idea where you were for the whole time you have been having this feature. Good thing you don’t get lost and have to depend on me finding you.
We got honorable mention for just knowing it was snow?! Woohoo. This is a good Sunday to remember!
I’ve been Loup Loup with too much nip nip before!
Mom says that is very interesting about Loup Loup. She likes uncrowded places with easy trails when she skis. But she’s not so sure about the outhouse thing. But it sure looks pretty.
Mom said that she’d be willing to deal with an outhouse if it meant that got rid of the crowds. What a lovely place to ski…if you like snow. Too cold for my paws! I bet Grete would love it.
You really get around a lot! I cannot keep up with you nor can I ever guess where you are.
Thanks for helping with the house trashing the other and for bringing the ham. It was delicious. The mom still hasn’t gotten the house fixed back to the way it should be.
I didn’t even know there was such a place. FAZ
My Mommeh used to ski at Lake Tahoe when she lived in norther California, but she says if she ever moved somewhere close to skiing again she would definitely to cross-country skiing instead!
We leave the skiing stuff to the humans…but our mom hasn’t skied in years, she says.
Loup Loup as in “Wolf Wolf”? It sounds very wild and exotic!

I bet I could ski!
I’d try anything!

‘Kaika is very good at finding you. Concats once again. We can’t understand the Humans worrying about going in an outhouse, we just find the nearest tree, or a molehill is even better.
i am so confused
I never would have guessed.
These are great guesses by the others and Max and Kaika are very smart!
bonkbonkbonk for bunnies
