Cats! It is time to stand up and call your human. Make them talk to their congressmen and their senators. There is a healthcare crisis in the US and it affects all of us.
Yes, all of us! Did you know that many cats do not get proper health care in the United States? And of those who do, do you have any idea that the vast majority have something stuck in their behind to see if they are sick?
How undignified. I think every senator and congressman should be subjected to the same indignity! If they had to have that stick shoved up their bum, I have no doubt that such a crisis would not exist in this country! Heck–the doctors would refuse, because do you really want to see your local politician with his pants down?
Oh wait. We keep hearing that many of them have been caught that way. Well never mind. It’s time to stand up and demand that your people demand a change in pet healthcare in this country.
Now, having said that I think I need a nap.
We don’t wanna see politishuns wif their pants down! Ewwwwwwwwwww!!!!
No, I don’t, though many British politicians have been caught with their pants down lately, as you may have seen in the news! As for proposed changes to bean American health care policy, vote against itor you’ll finish up with the sort of crap system they have in Canada. Pet healthcare seems to me to be much better and more comprehensive (even if more expensive, but who counts the cost when furrbabies are in need?) in Mericky than in Britain. Life’s full of laffs, ain’t it?!? đ xxx
Black Cat, we will absolutely vote for it. Currently there are too many people who can’t get health care AT ALL because of “pre exisiting conditions” that insurers won’t take them. Additionally our insurance companies often just decide when someone gets sick that they are no longer eligible. It’s a HUGE problem and something needs to change. We see this pretty much every day in our practice–either in our fights with the insurance or in the stories patients tell. The Canadian system may not be a good system, but at least everyone has SOMETHING. And there’s no way that people in the US would vote down access to supplemental insurance that would allow them to opt out of the system so to speak if they can afford more.
How timely…my sister Bennette just had to suffer the indignity of that so called stick up her bum tonight…but in the end (sorry about that)…I think she got better care than our humans get. The kind doctor said she was cute, scritched her ears and made sure she was pronouncing her name correctly…which is more than my humans get sometimes.
Tam the stray cat went for his first shots on Sunday and he got two needles in his bum! But the vet pronounced his name correctly and gave him a cuddle after. My quack NEVER cuddles me afterwards!
I agree — the healthcare situation is a disgrace. And politicians with their pants down — whatever the reason — is just as wrong!!
But I must say, I like our v*e*t and our TCM practitioner — they keep us well in spite of the healthcare system. Our humans’ doctor is an M.D. as well as a naturopath, and they also see the same TCM prctitioner/acupuncturist that we do! They believe people should have the choice to see alternative practitioners in any public health care option that is offered.
hahah pants down… most of them here haves the permanently down! hahah
Seriously though I have yet to see a health care system in any country that works properly đ
Momam watched a Doco ( she loves Docos) and the best to date is the Japanese) đ

We agree, it is very undignified to have sticks stuck up your behind. We think they should be toona flavoured and go in your mouth. (Unbreakable of course).
Akshully, my healthcare lately has been pretty good, Chey! And I’ve already heard Mom rant about healthcare for humans, so I think I will leave that one alone. She wants to move to Italy. She’ll take me with her, right?
The bum thing is awful. I like VETS (well, not really) who use the ear thingy.
Here here!
There’s gotta be a better way to figure out if we’re sick rather than sticking something in our bums!!! The healthcare system must be revamped!!!
I think perhaps the politicians would understand better if they had to have something stuck up there bums for a change. You lead the charge Chey and we will all follow!
We are WITH YOU CHEY!!! You tell ’em!!!
I agree … if every politician had that loop stuck up there behind and looked at, then we’d all know what they were really full of.
Here’s an article your Mom might like … http://www.rollcall.com/features/Mission-Ahead_Health-Care/ma_healthcare/35527-1.html
I understand your points, Chey, but my human pet is like having an insurance policy for myself, complete with no deductible to pay. She handles everything, and I sit back and get healthy. It’s marvelous!
We agree a million an’ a thousand purr-cent!
There should definitely be health care reform for us kitties and woofies. pound per pound, the vet bills are much more expensive than the bean bills.
Jasper, in regard to your link: I think Daschle has sold out. We ABSOLUTELY need a public option for all. He’s way to whimpy in the kinds of changes we need. Right now we claim that everyone has the right to live but that is just not true and we have seen people in public care who do die because by the time they got to alternative health public care they couldn’t be helped except palliatively. They needed to see an MD way sooner but couldn’t afford to go.
‘Kaika you are very lucky and I feel lucky to have Dr. Brienen who does not poke me in the bum. My human always uses her naturopaths first and she loves both Dr. Kat (who has been featured here) and Dr. DiRienzo.
I believe we should all get together and BAN the stick up the bottom. Definitely.
well… many cats and beans do not feel like having health care… they choose not to pay premiums for insurance… so should we force them to have health care? How about the illegals? should we pay for their care too?
Presently hospitals required to give medical care to everyone. the #’s of the uninsured are not as high as the administration claims.
I agree with Blackcat, we do not want what UK and Canada have. It is a disaster. Here in Washington DC we have many patients that have come from there for their care here in the US… only the rich can do that of course.
Oh! and happy day, Beautiful girl!!
Amen Sister!!!!!!!
AMEN sister!
Princess, the problem is people can’t go to the hospital for “free” (we the taxpayers pay for this) care when they are just sick. They can go there when they are very ill. This means that illnesses that are treatable early on go undiagnosed until there is no hope for these people. Many of these people are those who are working but for various reasons have been denied health insurance by the insurance companies. When I did public health in Portland we saw these people all day every day. It’s a horrible situation.
I think the administration is under representing those who do not have health insurance because I probably saw 10 people a day who were not insured and most of these folks had jobs.
Mom works for a school in California and knows that every child in the state is eligible for free or low cost health care, but parents either don’t know about it or don’t care enough until their kids are sick and then wonder why they have to go thru all of the paperwork. There are programs out there, but sometimes they are not well advertised, so people don’t know about it.
Tavi, Cody, Camie, Miss Jade and Gracie
Well… we are in Canada and we are lucky as Mom has not been sick.
We do like the free Dr visits and minor operations Mom gets though đ
The system works for us đ
As for us, our Vet has the ear thingy đ Whew!!!!!
Purrs Mickey,Georgia & Tillie
Please no Chey! You have put visions of naked politicians into my head, now I will have nightmares!
