Today I want to talk about Georgia. She has always been my “Momma Boo.” Momma says I like my Momma Boo more than I like her. And maybe I do.
Georgia isn’t my real Momma cat. We don’t know what happened to her. Momma just found me, outside, alone and scared of everything. After I got cleaned up and food and went to the vet, Momma started by letting me see the whole condo that she lived in. I saw Georgia and I hissed at her. Georgia was not happy about me at all. But Momma talked to her.
One day Momma stepped on my tail a little bit when I was a baby and I screamed. Georgia came running and looked at me and she glared at Momma. I was so excited I went running to Georgia. She licked my head and then swatted me and continued to glare at Momma no matter how much she apologized. But Georgia was going to make sure I wasn’t hurt.
In this photo, she actually has her paw over my back. I think we were wrestling and she got tired of it but kept her paw there so I couldn’t attack her again. Momma said that when I was a kitten, sometimes I was an obnoxious brat.
The food commentary is that Georgia ate a little chicken from Momma’s hand and then she licked the gravy off the cat food but didn’t really eat. She continues to drink a lot of water. We don’t know exactly when she’ll decide to go. We’ll see.
Oh, this post made my eyes leek. Georgia is so sweet!
It iz so good ta hab ? in dis world. It feels so good in da middle ub youz body. Youz getz all warm an’ fuzzy inside knowing someone ?’s you.
LC is startin ta act like that too. The Big Thing has to really encourage her ta eat food. She drinks a lotta water. An she sleeps a lot…

It’s very, very hard to see a furbaby failing like dear Georgia. I know how you’re feeling. My heart goes out to you all. {{{HUGS}}} xxx
Gemini,
Wht a sweet story about Georgia running to rescue you when your tail got hurt. We are all purring and praying for her to have an easy time when she decides to go to the Bridge. And we are thinking about and praying for all of your family too.
Ozzy, Alice, Bootsie, Freckles, Lola, Dandelo & Honey
When Georgia does decide to go to the Bridge, she will make that journey secure in the knowledge that she was loved and adored by her fambly – and will continue to be so forever. It is so hard to watch her say her last goodbyes – Mom says she really understands your pain as she had to watch Henry (1985 – 2004) her lovely lilac point siamese slowly fade. Mom sends her (((((hugs))))
Purrs and prayers to you all.
Georgia is such a lovely girl We are sure she feels the love surrounding her. Soft purrs to you, Georgia.
That is such a sweet story Gemini! Georgia sounds like quite a ladycat. I hope that she is finding peace in her final days. She is loved so much by kitties and humans alike. She is a lucky girl and she will be young again at the bridge.
Gemini…you two look so cute together! You can tell that Georgia loves you…
is she diabetic? or her kidneys not so good? you can get fluids to give at home, and that can keep her going for a while. We love the story- it was a great way to start off the morning!
What a cute picture. I am glad you became friends. When I first moved in my housemate hissed at me but now we are good friends most of the time.
This is making mom leaky because this is like how it was when our Jonathan faded away. He stopped eating and then for 2 days he only drank his water and then he went to the Bridge. This is a hard time but it’s a very special time for you to be there with Georgia to support her through this transition. Our hearts are with you this week. Purrs have not stopped.
WE are purring as hard as we can for you all… Miss Georgia you is so loved:))
Thankyou for sharing your sweet story:))
Gemini, I knows what you is feeling and going through. I felted that way about both Grampa Norton and Gramma Trixie. I used to lay in the big window with Grampa Norton all day and snuggle with him and catch the rays. Grampa Norton was MY “mama boo”. He is also the one who finded Sammy and bringed Mommy to where he was so that she could rescue him and he could be Sammy’s Mama Boo too until I camed there. It’s so hard to see the ones we is close to go downhill. We all knowed when it was time for both Norton and Trixie. Mommy knowed too and she bundled both of them up in blankies and snuggled them in the bed all night until they went to the Bridge. – Miles
Dat is a furry happy story, we is sure dat all those wonderful memories will stay furever and ever. Georgia, we hope yoo can rest well and when yoo wake yoo will be always healthy! (The mom’s eyes are leakin so we is goin to say g’day fer now.)
What a wonderful story, Gemini. Thanks for sharing it with us. We are all purring that Georgia has an easy and painless journey over the Bridge. Sometimes it is hard for us furries to know it is okay to go, but I know you have all been doing your best to help her on her way. Purrs and Purrayers to all of you. Mommy wants to send you all hugs and love, too.
Gemini! Thank you for sharing such a sweet story!
Georgia has a meningioma and end stage renal failure. It is well beyond the stage that fluids would help. I am both an alternative healthcare provider and have worked at a veterinarian and so understand the things that can and cannot be done for my cats. Georgia has lived long beyond what anyone expected and we refuse to put her through more–when she does not like being messed with.
We will purr for you all and trust that Georgia passes quietly and in as much comfort as possible with those she loves most around to make her feel loved and safe… She is an amazing ladycat and should know you all love her!
We are glad that you had a mommmy Boo to love with Georgia. We are sorry she is leaving you.
Roxy
Gemini, those are sweet memories you have of Georgia. This is a good time to think of all the good times you have had together and treasure whatever time you have left with your mama boo.
:::gentle headbutts::: to Georgia…you’re a lucky kitty to have a Momma kitty like that, Gemini, even if she isn’t your “real” mom. I don’t think they get more real than that. And I hope you have exactly the amount of time left with her that you need.
memories like that are the ones we treasure most. you all are lucky to have such memories of Georgia.
Our heart and soul and thoughts are with you these days! *hugs*
You are all still in our thoughts and purrayers. That is just the most darling picture!

What a beautiful photo and a beautiful story about how you found your forever home. All you need is love and you can get through anything. Thinking of you and your family.
What a great mommy Georgia was!
Thank you for the comment at our blog regretting LC gettin old. She and Skeeter came inta the house together a year apart, and it is not a surprise that they might go out together at the same age a year apart (generally). LC turns 16 on May 28th. That is old enough for most cats to develop problems. And “The Bridge” is a good place to go when a kitty is worn out from this place.
She is preparin for that change gradually, and we will try to help her (when her get ready for it (when her tail isn’t twitching too much ta be ignored) as best we can. We do actually purr near her and groom her, and The Big Thing helps her eat her stinky goodness in privacy.
Our thanks for your kind thoughts…
LC and Ayla
We did’t know Georgia but we read about her and wanted to come by and send some good thoughts to you and your family, and purrs and prayers for Georgia. We know how hard it can be to loose someone you love so much.
What a sweet, sweet lady Georgia seemed to be. Very lovely. This is my first time to your blog, yet I can tell Georgia was very loved. She knew too. Your words about your sweet lady, made the eyes of my human Tommy (and mine) damp up.
All our prayers to you and your family.
