This week was quite a bit different from last week. Camie’s Kitties guessed correctly first,
You are at Chenonceau Castle in the Loire Valley in France.
Tavi, Cody, Camie, Miss Jade and Gracie
Kaika and Zeus agreed with the guess. Roxy Dragon Pebbles also knew (and gives us some history here as well):
Ahhhhhhhhhhh, the chateau Chenoceaux, owned by Diane Potiers, lover of Henry, the King of France. Mom and dad were there in 1991. And I bet somebody already guessed it, huh. Itβs in the Loire Valley, France.
Roxy
Mom knew she would get one of these, to bad itβs 9:30 PM!
Chenonceaux
They actually had a room painted black with white skulls and what-not up and down the walls. It was really dreadful.Roxy
Actually Roxy, Chenonceaux is the village near the Chateau and Chenonceau is how they spell the name of the Chateau–according to Wikipedia. Now that was interesting. Once again the Woman visited Chenonceau in 1986 in January. They normally have some lovely gardens across the path I am lying next to but in January the gardens were not at their most spectacular. Chenonceau was originally a home for Diane de Poitiers who was a mistress of Louis XIV (Louis Cat-oars is how the Woman says it and I am not sure I like him very much if he used cats as oars). Anyway, it was also occupied in WWII. I think it was one place that the French held the Nazi’s. I am not sure if the Nazi’s held Chenonceau and the French couldn’t get back across or the Chateaux\ was as far into Allied territory as the Germans could get. Nevertheless, there is an amazing history of WWII surrounding this particular Chateau as well.
Concatulations to Camie’s Kitties! That place really sounds interesting. Your Woman is very well-travelled and is losing you in some fascinating places. π xxx

We are glad we were able to find you this week. We think you need to stop hanging around the water (although it does make it easier to search for you on google). We liked the history lesson that you gave about the castle.
