I got my first Comment from Luxor and he was absolutely correct. I AM the sphinx! I doesn’t surprise me that given his name heritage, Lux would be the cat to guess first. After all, Luxor Egypt is considered the World’s Largest Open Air museum.
Skeeter, LC and Ayla were actually the most technically correct, giving me the exact GPS coordinates to help me locate myself.
However, many of you thought I was impersonating Dragonheart and Merlin–including Skeeter, LC and Ayla and Yaffa and Sebastian. I would like to point out that Dragonheart and Merlin, who are Sphynx sent me the photo of the Sphinx for our Find Chey Friday. How could I not use it? Also, I know so many of you were tired of never knowing where I was!
I must say that for all of you who knew where I was, I quite liked Pyewacket’s comment:
Mom was just quoting to me, all about you!
“I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: “Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown
And wrinkled lip and sneer of cold command
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed.
And on the pedestal these words appear:
`My name is Cheysuli, King of Kings:
Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!’
Obviously they should have changed it to Queen of Queens, but I like it. More people should write poetry like that about me…
hi Chey, nice to see you again… the poem is very interesting indeed:)
We are so glad that you are found again! You didn’t happen to see our van while you were there, did ya?
Kitty kisses from Italy,
Opus and Rosoce
You deserve a lot of poetry!
Very appropriate that Lux was the first to have the correct answer. 🙂 Congratulations to Lux! 🙂
Terrific poem too! 🙂
Hooray for Lux! That’s a really nice picture of him, even with the “dirty tail”… And you will always be a queen of queens to us, Chey!
