Today, I have a thought. I have a thought that this is a perfect day to remember where we were forty or fifty years ago. At that time, no one considered specism. They were too busy fighting racism.  Race made a difference. Imagine if we could not mourn our friend Caesar because we were an orange cat and he was a tuxie.  Imagine.
Our world has changed.  Today, our presidential candidates are a woman, an African American and a cat. Okay, so the cat isn’t doing as well.  Still, when you consider that the biggest obstacle that John Edwards needs to over come is being a white man, that’s very telling. Our world is changing and it is changing for the better.
Today we remember our friend Caesar who slipped away quietly on Saturday night or Sunday morning. We are honored to have made his person laugh through her tears. It is what we are here for.  And we cried as we read that comment as well.  Laughter. Tears. They are two sides of the same coin. The bring us closer.
We also remember a hero, Martin Luther King Jr., who inspired millions with his words. I have a dream.  We should all dream so big.
And, might I add, a lovely profile picher of you!

You have some really deep kitty thoughts there, Cheysuli. I will also remember Martin Luther King while I am mourning Caesar.
Chey, that was a wonderful post. Caesar was such a great kitty…
Very interesting points. We have never been able to wrap our brains around racism… how can you hate the present when all you’ve seen is the wrapping paper?
This is a wonderful post about remembering MLK and our sweet Caesar.
Purrrrrs, China Cat
P.S. I am trying to get my Mom to finish helping me get posted the lovely award you gave to me last week. Sometimes Mom’s forget how important it is to help us with our blogging!
It is the 3rd Mon. of January, so it’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day – good post Chey.

This is a fabulous post dear Chey. I’m going to break the rules and award you the Thinking Blogger Award. It means I’ve exceeded the numbers but so what?! Hehe. Please come and get it from mine bloggie. I don’t think there could have been a dry eye in the cat blogosphere when the news about dear Caesar was posted.
Re. your comment on my blog about your horse friend Max, what is it with horsy people? I’m a horsy person and if I had a horse I would certainly help him or her to blog!
I’m constantly shocked that such a smart, special, incredible cat like you chose me. Thank you for this post!
Wonderful post, Chey. We are very sad that Caesar has gone to the Bridge. We will miss him a lot.
Chey, that was a very thoughtful and beautiful post.
We need more cats running for president. Then maybe the world will be a better place.
A great post Chey ~ we all miss Caesar so much ~ and these words of yours are so sensible and true!
Lots of love and purrs from the SnowForest family 🙂
Great post! I think it is time for a cat in the Whitehouse.
What a beautiful post, Chey! And such a wise observation that the biggest obstacle John Edwards has to overcome is being a white man. We’d not thought of it that way, but you’re absolutely right.

That is a lovely post Chey. Today is a day for dreams and memories.
Chey,
We iz dreamin’ in quiet refleckshun. Dere iz much to tink about & our heartz iz full.
We lovez you & Gemini…
That was a wonderful post, Chey, worthy for the next president of the US!
Nicely done.
We think that, as fur-diiferences seem to matter among Beins, it is jus that much more important that wee elect a cat (Chey).
It does not make any difference to us cats that we are orange or blue, or striped or tan or tuxie or any colors of fur.
That is why Chey should be elected President! She will jus autocatically ignore such surface fur differences and get right to the innards, er, inner sense of all beins regardless of appearance.
“Chey, Chey, All the way, All the way for the USA!” Yay, Chey!
