This is an appropriate theme for today, as here in the Northern Hemisphere is the Winter Solstice. It is the shortest day of the year.
In the words of one of our favorite Christmas Revels Songs,
Dance, Dance, wherever you may be
For I am the Lord of the Dance said He
And I lead you all, wherever you may be
And I lead you all in the Dance said He.
Peace and blessings to all who follow their light, whatever form of celebration it comes in.
After you’ve checked out the other photo hunters, if you want some more holiday wishes, check out Weekend Cat Blogging and Carnival of the Cats!

Happy Holidays!
Happy Solstice, I like that sentiment! As you say, LIGHT is so appropriate for this time of year when there is LIGHT everywhere!
There may be a lot of similar posts(mine ), but in these dark days you can never have enough LIGHT!
Peace & Joy to all your family,
Mickey,Georgia & Tillie
How beautiful.
I like thinking about that.
Love,
Lux
This is amazingly beautiful~!!!!!!
Thank you for sharing with us~!
I gonna sing for joy as well~!
Perfect – furry friends and all. Merry Christmas from Tennessee!
I miss a cat in front of the candle !
I had forgotten this was the shortest day of the year. That actually makes me happy, I’m ready to start having more light. LOL! Great choice for the theme!
My light pictures are up now too! 🙂
It’s great to think that the light is slowly coming back. Happy weekend and a very happy Xmas
My Mummy lit candles here last night too, we’z all haded a good look at them but she didn’t take any purrty pictures like your Mom did…
That is a very beautiful sentiment and photo.
That is beautiful Chey, really lovely. That particular song is one of my human’s favourites! i prefer it when she sings ‘ dance, dance wherever you may be, Yao-Lin is the lord of everything he sees, he will lead you all wherever you may be he will order you around when you follow his lead’. Hold on, is that blasphemous? I didn’t mean to blaspheme! Please apologise to Bast for me x
He he xx
To Cheysuli and all… this is a heartfelt wish to you and yours for a truly wonderful Christmas season, full of all good things for all. Your posting today
is quite meaningful… thank you.
What a great quote! I don’t think we know that song. I’m so glad the light is coming back. My beans are always so lazy during “eastern standard time.” Besides, I see more birdies and stuff in the light.
Many many wonderful Christmas wishes to you all and your loved ones.
I have to go hide now…mommy has the “barking dogs sing Jingle Bells CD” up next. Why not kitties? Why?
Beautiful shot. Merry Christmas!
That’s a gweat photo Chey!
Turned out great! Love the cat!
Happy Holidays!
Thank you for such a pretty picture. Chey and Gemini you guys are so awesome.
Our Momma’s Momma, who went to be with her kitties at Bridge many years ago, used to say “When the days begin to lengthen, the cold begins to strengthen. She was in Minnesota, so maybe that is different, we hope so.
That’s beautiful.
Luf, Us
Yikes! We just read the above comment!!! Here in Minn. we hope that isn’t true anymore!! Seems like its true though!
Momma says it is just 4 extra seconds of daylight today, but that’s a start!
What a beeyootiful holiday wish! Peace and blessings to you and yur beans, too, and we wish you all the bestest in the New Year.
Kittyhugs and purrs from MaoMao!
Oooo … Excellent interpretation of the theme!
Happy Solstice!

Purrs and snuggles from Marilyn.
What a lovely post. Happy Solstice! And welcome, Yule! (Over the past 16 years, I’ve performed with the Revels in three different cities. I know that song like the back of my hand, and dearly love it.)
Whatta fantastic picture for PhotoHunt! Ours seems positively kittenish by comparison.
We mean, here we celebrate Solstice Day cause it means the LIGHT is coming back again, an we dint efen THINK to connect the two!
Wonderful winter solstice photo!
Since this is my fist visit, I’ll say hello from Norway. We’ve celebrate this TurningPoint too and it suitable for this Yuletide you know. God Jul 🙂

No, Chey, you don’t have to limit yourself to just one. Take one for a friend and another for your best friend (yourself).

With lots of hugs from Tigger the FBI cat. 🙂
P.S. Mom says I have to say that Pyewacket and Trixie from topcatrules wish you a Merry Christmas too, cause they do! 🙂 {{hugs}} from all three of us.
Our mommie has several of the Revels CD’s we really love this song too.
Mommie always sings along… which is okay.
Happy Christmas Huggs from Prinnie and me.
Have a very special day with your family and kittie sisters
Love to all
Winter Solstice has special meaning to us, cause it’s Tall Son’s birthday. From now, the hours of daylight are lengthening – nice take on the light theme.
