The Woman got up this morning and Gemini didn’t come for breakfast. They searched the house but no little puffy cat. They have looked EVERYWHERE. The human male even lifted the heavy lid of the cedar chest (lest Gemini have taken up weight lifting and decided to close herself in).
At any rate, they found that something had eaten through the screen from the outside. We suspect the little dogs who were staying at the house because several times they were left in the yard. They didn’t notice it. We think that when the screen was on and the glass was opened in the middle of the night, Gemini went out and couldn’t get back in. Now we can’t find her.
Send good thoughts and prayers that she comes out. She is VERY timid and loves to hide. She pretty much only goes to the woman. The woman is just sick with worry. She has always always had only indoor cats and of all of us, Gemini is the least equipped to deal with outside.
UPDATE: This afternoon, still no sign of her. She usually moves around more in the later evening and early morning times around the house. We will have more food out (the Male went around with the can earlier) and see if she comes by. We’ve been in every backyard of people who are home and now know where all the dogs are.  There is some watershed areas around here that aren’t far and that could seem like a great hiding place for her too. There is construction on our block and it is our fear that with all that noise (and she may have knocked the screen door out trying to get back in) that this may have scared her farther away than most cats go. Also we do have raccoons in the area and coyotes, so that worries us a lot!
You must all be so worried. Here’s a tip that I’ve found sometimes works to help a cat come home. Empty out the contents of your vacuum cleaner outside the house, near a place where Gemini can get in, or can be seen approaching. The scent of her, her family, and her home will be in all the dust and dust bunnies and will carry far. The theory is that the scent of home encourages the lost kitty to come towards it. Good luck, I hope she comes home soon xx
OH NO! We’re going to all get together and purr right now! We’re so furried for you…
Oh No!! We are purring and purraying that she is found safe and sound. Soon!
Oh no! Come home pretty girl! The comment from Jane is a good idea – we’ve also heard that you should leave clothing or a blanket outside too. We’ll be purring and purring like crazy – COME HOME GEMINI!
Oh dear, we will keep you in our thoughts.
ohmygod! Gemini!! oh pretty girl come home. we will say a lot of purrayers for her to come home.
Oh no! 🙁 Poor Gemini. I hope she comes home soon! I will keep her in my prayers.
Oh no! We’re sending so many good thoughts to you all. Come home soon Gemini! I think the ideas of spreading dirty clothes (cause they smell more like you so they’re stronger) and the vacuum are good ideas.
I’ve also been told at the shelter I volunteer at that you should immediately call every shelter in 20 miles and call every day because they can’t track every cat that comes in. If you can send them a photo that helps too, but always call. It never hurts to walk around and knock on doors (even if you don’t know people) with a photo and ask if they’ve seen her.
You are in our prayers!!
Oh, we Ballicai are purrin’ and purrin’ for Gemini to come home really really soon!
We are both purring very hard and sending over prayers that Gemini will be found soon. Those were good ideas about the clothes and vacuumed dust so she will smell that she is home. We are praying that she is safe.

♥ ♥ ♥
Purrs coming Gemini and your way! When Bebe got out I put her favorite food out, and the carrier with a towel in it that she and Samantha had slept on. It was night and was supposed to rain, so I thought maybe she’d go into the carrier to get out of the storm. When I heard her meeping I woke up and she was laying next to the carrier with a look on her face like “why’s the door closed, mom?”
It’s amazing how resourceful they are, even as indoor cats. Gemini will be home soon and will be SO glad to see you all!
We are purrrrrrrrring very hard for you Gemini and your family!! It is very scarey indeed.
Our big sis angel kitty was outside overnight one time and our mommy was so distraught. But then it turned out that she hid underneath da front porch stairs where no one can find her except when she cried very very loud.
Mommy found shaking a bag of temptations very helpful. We like to think gemini is hid very close to home. Does she like temptations??
Hurry home, Gemini! We’re purraying and purraying that she comes home very soon.
We heard from Casey and came right over!!!
We are praying she appears soon and you all are in our thoughts!!
Poor little Gemini!
Come home Kitty!
Gemini come home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Chase got out once, he actually feel down 2 stories. Meowmy FREAKED out. That is to put it mildly. He was just sitting in the woods by the house. I hope Gemini hasn’t gone too far and she comes home soon. We will purr our hardest for you!!!!!!!!!!
We keep coming back, hoping for good news. Come home Gemini!
we’re just checking in. still purring and praying you find her soon.
We do hope Gemini comes back soon. You must be very worried. I am an inside kitty too and rather timid if I escape. My Mom has found that shaking my container of treats and calling me does help out if I am within earshot, because I really like my treats. Also, once when I got out and could not be seen, she heard a bird or squirrel chattering near o where I was, and that made here realize whereabouts I could be found.
Good luck finding Gemini.
Gemini, please please come home! Right NOW! If we all purr hard enough, maybe you can find your way home easier. Purrrrrrrrrrr! Purrrrrrrrrrrr!
If Gemini is strictly an indoor kitty, which I think she is, she will not have strayed very far. When Bella took off, we were told that she was probably within one or two houses.
If Gemini is scared, she will go to ground (find a hinding spot). I would start checking all of your neighbors yards and any sheds or nooks and crannies near decks.
Dolce got confused as a kitten with a neighbor whose deck was the same colour as ours.
This is terrible news. I’m purring along with all your other feline friends, hoping Gemini finds her way home soon.
Purrrrrrrrrrr
Purrrrrrrrrrr
Purrrrrrrrrrr
Gemini, come home soon!!!!
My Lady is heartbroken over this and so are Clyde and I. We really hope that everything works out okay. Please Gemini, come home soon.
I’m so sorry that this has happened. But, inside cats … when they get outside … tend to stay very close to home. Gemini is somewhere very close to the house. She is probably very scared and hiding somewhere. I would put a can of tuna outside (the smell carries) and sit quietly nearby. Don’t call her name or make any noise as this will frighten her more. She will hopefully smell the tuna and find her way back to you. Please let me know how it goes. Good luck! Prayers from THE TAYLOR CATSSSSS.

If there are any children who play in the area, talk to them. They usually know the neighborhood pretty well, and have a good idea of what is going on.
If you have a porch or patio door, try leaving that open a crack, especially if it is close to the window Gemini left through. She might well sneak back into the house the same way she sneaked out.
We also suggest leaving food out for her. She is probably hungry.
Gemini is probably hiding someplace close. Be assured she wants found as much or more than you want to find her.
Oh, that’s terrible! I got out once, and I was scared but ran in as soon as the door opened! I hope Gemini does that too. Shaking the Temptations bag is a great idea too. If she recognizes the sound, maybe she’ll come running…
Praying for you.
The cats let me check in for them this time. I hope you can find her this evening… use that food as Gemini-bait for sure 🙂 Sending prayers and Reiki for her, and you guys too.
*hugs* and *scritches*
Robyn
