This morning we heard on the radio that a man who had been lost trail running had been found. Apparently he had fallen into a gully of some sort and lain there for several days unconscious. He woke up and walked home.  The searchers had missed him.
This evening on the news, we are invited to hear about his harrowing near death experience.
Today, on my blog, I invite you to hear about my harrowing near death experience.
Once I wandered into a closet that my human had open.  I explored.  She didn’t realize I was there and shut the door. I curled up and took a nap.  Several hours later, she was frantic and opened the door. I yawned and went back to sleep. It was only after she called me and called me and called me that I fought my way to consciousness and wandered out to stretch in front of the now opened closet door.
It was harrowing. I went a good six hours without food…
Six hours without food! Wow Chey, that must have been a horrible experience!
How did you ever survive? That has to be the most terrifying experience I’ve ever heard. At least you had a quiet place to nap.
oh my goodness Chey – you is so brave! I would haf hollered long ‘afore 6 hours. – Miles
I’m not quite sure 6 hours without food would qualify as “near death”, but I suppose it would really depend on when you had eaten before you got trapped. It may have been as much as 16 hours and that certainly would qualify as starvation!
::shudders:: What a terrible ordeal! I might have nightmares now.
You are very lucky!
That has happened to my mamma’s first cat (hoo lives with her parents) more times than anyone can count. Unfortunetly, he pee’d in the closet after being stuck there for a whole day.
Chey I got locked in a closet for a whole 9 hours once. I like you slept the time away and managed not to leave any presents for mum.
Someone needs to give that story a PG13 rating. It’s gonna scare the little ones.
Hi Chey!
Fanks furs visitng us today. Once meowmize and the dadz accidently shut Pounce in there room, for a whole 10-12 hours. She was napping under the bed when they had left…Sia
Chey, do you have PTSD after that terrifying experience?
It seems to me that your Mom was more traumatized by the experience than you were. Six hours without food or water wasn’t a good thing, though.
My human is laughing but I am not. That sounds deeply disturbing. I hope it was theraputic for you to share. Sleep peacefully, without nightmares x
